Classic car prices continue to fall
We are seeing at the start of 2024 a similar picture to what we experienced in 2023 with prices for most marques losing some ground. It is almost inevitable given the difficult macroeconomic backdrop and the fact that prices have risen strongly for a decade or more. We suspect prices will continue to experience a slow drop over the coming year, but if interest rates start to fall as the year progresses it may well be that prices will start to stabilise. This does not stop us buying good quality cars with the right provenance. We are also very interested in restoration projects, but they must be a complete car, not a stalled restoration that has been partially dismantled. If you have a restoration sitting in your garage that has not seen the light of day for many years, please do call us as we are very interested in a car in any condition whether it be a full restoration of just a recommissioning project, but it must be a complete car
Cars that we want
We are interested in good quality examples of most marques, but in particular we are keen to hear from people with cars such as the following: MGB GT/V8/Roadster Porsche 911/993/964/3.2 Carrera/SC Triumph GT6/TR6/Vitesse/Herald Jaguar MK2/E-Type MGA Reliant Scimitar Coupe SE4 Morris Minor Van/Pickup. and many more! Plus any restoration, no matter what condition, do get in touch.

Auction prices driving unrealistic asking prices
We couldn't help but notice a Morris J Type van which was listed within the last week or so at a world record asking price of £18,750. This seems to be the result of the sale of a similar model (pictured) at Anglia Car Auctions over the previous weekend of a van that had just 8,928 miles on the clock and sold for £18.020. The reason for such a strong selling price was the incredibly low mileage and we would not expect to see this repeated for a van of the same model unless it also had a unique selling point. This again shows why it is important not to follow all auction results when pricing your car. Please contact us today if you have a classic to sell and we will give you a realistic appraisal of what your car can achieve in the current market.
Low mileage cars continue to demand a premium
Last month's Silverstone Auctions sale at the NEC has created a few more records most of which belong to very low mileage cars, a common theme for most auction sales this year. The Ferrari 550 Maranello, a blue chip investment?
Finding future classics with great investment potential is never the easiest of games to play and is one that requires patience and a good deal of foresight. Nearly all Ferrari models from the past have eventually found a following leading to exponential price rises. A more recent Ferrari that is now starting to gather some price momentum is the 550 Maranello.
Triumph Stag prices remaining strong

E-type prices set to drop?
Classic Car Weekly has run a piece this week suggesting values for E-Types might well start to fall according to expert predictions. A quick glance at the private ads would certainly suggest a huge influx in left hand drive cars and if the laws of supply and demand hold it does seem very likely that prices are going to struggle.
